Walter Henry WHEELER

Walter Henry Wheeler was born November 6, 1938, in Corbitt Creek, Alberta to Nora & James Wheeler. He was predeceased by parents and eight siblings. Henry was married to Vi on June 26, 1971, until his last breath.

Henry started working at age 15 in construction. It didn’t take long for him to move up to a heavy-duty equipment operator which he did until the age of 79 years when he was forced to retire.

He was a jack of all trades, but his passion was tearing down buildings and houses. He was very much sought after for demolition. Raising five girls had to be hard considering even our dog was female. That was until his first grandson came along and he had a new challenge of raising him from a baby to a man. One of all of us girls’ favorite traditions was on our birthdays, Dad would always come home after work and empty his pocket of change for the birthday girl.

He also enjoyed road trips, whether it was to Fort Vermillion or camping in B.C. The last stop on the way home was always Jacks Drive in for ice cream. After he became sick, he still loved to go out to Ivan’s C Cans to dig through all his junk. Building him and mom a house in Tomahawk, from scratch by himself, was his last biggest accomplishment before being forced to retire.
